Project Architect / Senior Architectural Technologist / Part II Assistant

Nicolas Tye Architects is a RIBA Chartered practice based one hour north of London, working on projects across the United Kingdom and internationally. Our award winning Bedfordshire and Birmingham studios require an experienced Project Architect / Senior Architectural Technician / Part II Assistant to work as a team member in a fast paced practice.

About you

You will have a professional degree in architecture, technical detailing skills, and a very strong design sensibility. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 3+ years of office-based experience, with onsite and contractual experience
  • Experience in technical detailing and preparation of tender/construction documents
  • Exposure to Vectorworks is an advantage
  • High proficiency in drawing and document management
  • Excellent time management skills, and an ability to manage conflicting or multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, including exemplary written and spoken English
  • Exposure to/knowledge of UK building regulations, planning, and NBS specification writing
  • Ability to liaise confidently with consultants, contractors and local authorities
  • Diligence with a sensitivity for detail and presentation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Project Architect

Candidates who wish to apply, need to demonstrate:

  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in preparing, planning, building regulation, tender and construction information packages
  • Experience managing a project from initial client contact to project completion as you will take responsibility for your projects
  • Experience in technical detailing, preparation of tenders and construction documents
  • High proficiency in CAD drafting and document management
  • Vectorworks experience ideal but not essential
  • Three years of office experience running projects
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills – English fluency is essential. Successful candidates will be expected to liaise directly with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and planning policy is essential, along with onsite contractual administration experience
